SB: DH-6.True Friends     Teufel couldn’t wait any longer. He held up his hand, and the soldiers followed suit by raising their guns to the wall. He was about to drop his hand to fire, but Karin came around the wall, using it to support him and his useless leg. His eyes were dead serious and behind him Fritz rose, the same look on his face.
     “And so we have failed in our mission to live,” Teufel said, mocking Fritz’s promise.
     But Fritz smiled, “We failed that mission a long time ago. Now all we do is fight to survive.”

SB: DH-4.Day Storm Karin had sat, waiting for everyone to reach their positions. When they reached them, their only jobs were to make final calculations and adjustments. All troops were likely ready near the doors, just waiting to enact the ‘Storm’ part of Operation Day Storm. Once again he couldn’t help but wonder who had come up with that name. He was sure it had been one of the commanders. He amused himself with the thought of what tortures to give to the one who had come up with the name, then quickly forgot them.

SB: DH-3.The Final Battle At last, they had ascended the winding passages and reached the command centre. Fritz put his hand on Richie’s shoulder again and sighed. He took his hand off and use it to take out a pair of sunglasses. He hadn’t been out of the dark tunnels as much as his soldiers and he knew that this was no time to make an attempt to adjust his eyes to the bright light of the Abydos sun. He put the sunglasses on and walked into the room with its huge window looking out across the city. The Tech Force had destroyed it the day before. He couldn’t see the bodies that still laid in the streets and he knew that it was because of the sands.

Warning!: This thing is MASSIVE!! But as always, see in full view for the best... view.
Anyways, this was actually a pretty special piece to me since I just finished the first draft of my first novel. Of all of the words I was looking forward to, it was my final word. All because I knew that that word had to mean something not just to me, but the reader.

So obviously this was created for the Wacom contest. The line art and poem was done by hand with a calligraphy pen. The picture was then scanned and moved into Photoshop to be fixed slightly(basically prep for colouring) then to Corel to be painted with awesome brushes. After a painstaking amount of time with a touch pad(I never learn, do I?), I had to move it back to Photoshop for the finishing touches. All in all... it was worth it.

It's that and Corel. I just wouldn't be able to get those brush effects from Photoshop's set of brushes.

cool isn't photoshop great. Have you used photoshop CS4 yet?

Nope. I'm still a fan of CS3.

But once you use CS4 you won't want to go back to CS3
